Choosing Fence for Cattle vs. Horses
Different livestock need different fences. Cattle respect barbed wire, woven wire, and electric, and are tough on whatever you build, so bracing matters most. Horses, by contrast, can injure themselves on barbed wire — owners favor smooth high-tensile, vinyl rail, pipe, or no-climb woven wire with small openings to prevent hooves catching. Sheep and goats need close spacing or electric netting to stop them slipping through or climbing. Matching the system to the animal prevents both escapes and injuries.
